Together we can help

This information is intended for those who come into contact with addiction and substance abuse in their profession. You may work in county council, government, youth activities or health and social care.

CA can function as an important complement to other forms of care and treatment. The fellowship can be very helpful in achieving long-lasting sobriety for an addict, for example after completing treatment.

CA is a non-professional, non-profit twelve-step fellowship of addicts that helps each other become and stay sober. CA offers a worldwide supportive fellowship and a lasting program (CA's 12 Steps) for recovery, which includes helping others through sponsorship. There are no membership costs or fees. CA is self-supporting, declining outside contributions. CA is not a drug-specific fellowship — it's open to anyone who has a desire to stop using drugs and alcohol.

We are not experts in medical, socio-political or religious matters and we do not have an opinion on these issues. But we have a unique experience of what it means to be addicted to drugs and alcohol and to recover from addiction. We have a solution that works long-term for us.

If you work with substance abuse related issues, you can help the people you encounter in your profession by providing information about CA. Order information content by emailing pi@ca-sweden.se. You can also email if you have any other questions.

CA in Sweden has no fixed visiting address or postal address, but you are welcome to visit us at a meeting to see how it works.

Since we are anonymous, you will not find any personal names or personal contact information on this site.

H&I Committee – A part of CA that reaches out to those who have not yet made it to a meeting

The main purpose of CA is carrying the message of recovery to those who are still suffering. One way we do this is by visiting, prisons, psychiatric clinics, detox clinics, treatment centers, halfway houses, etc. to talk about the 12 Steps and make people aware that CA exists. The Committee within CA that works with reaching out to these places is called H&I.

It has been proven very effective when a recovering addict shares his experience, strength and hope with another addict. People who has a problem with drugs or alcohol can identify themselves and get the message that a life without drugs and alcohol is possible and fun.

If you work in a place that would like to be visited by the H&I Committee, you can email s.o.i@ca-sweden.se.
