Time to nominate for more service posts!

Now is the time to nominate a new Chair of the Literature Committee, Chair of the Public Information Committee, Chair of the Archives Committee and member of Casso. Nominate by filling in the form further down the page. The service positions will be appointed at the Area Meeting on June 7, 2025. The nominees must have been consulted and are recommended to attend the Area Meeting.

President Literature

The service assignment involves the following:

  • Responsibility for the Literature Committee budget and ensuring that it is not exceeded.

  • Maintain CA Sweden's stock of trays and books and manage the related finances.

  • Helping groups with starter kits for meetings.

  • Send out trays and books to CA.

  • Voting rights on topical issues at area meetings.

Desirable knowledge and qualities:

  • Plan purchases for stock.

  • Have time to quickly process orders for leaflets, trays and books.

  • Structured and organized.

  • Meticulous and responsible.

  • Orderly economy.

  • Knowledge of the traditions.

  • 6 months of active service in CA.

Desirable minimum sober time: 1 year.

Length of service assignment: 1 year.

What is the Literature Committee?

The Literature Committee is responsible for books, pamphlets and chip. They make sure they are packaged and sent to the groups.


President Public Information (PI)

The service assignment involves the following:

  • Oversee the PI Committee as a whole and have overall knowledge of the structure and activities of the Committee.

  • Communicate with CASSO and CAWSO when needed.

  • Representing the Committee in other contexts within the CA's organization.

  • Answer general questions addressed to and within the Committee and find out answers if necessary.

  • Chair the Committee's practical meetings.

  • Ultimately, be responsible for ensuring that the Committee does not violate the Traditions.

  • Hold a veto in votes within the Committee.

  • Drive the Committee's development forward.

  • Speaking for the Committee at Area meetings, answering questions and informing the Area about its activities.

  • Voting rights on topical issues at area meetings.

Desirable knowledge and qualities:

  • Energetic and responsible.

  • Good knowledge of the Traditions.

  • Previously performed service tasks at committee level within CA, preferably within PI.

Desirable minimum sober time: 1 year.

Length of service assignment: 2 years.

What is Public Information (PI)?

The PI Committee is responsible for CA's name and program well known through information to the media and other actors in society. This can be done through information in e.g. radio, press, TV, web or social media. It can also be done through communication with other relevant stakeholders. The Committee is responsible for maintaining the CA Sweden website including the online shop. All matters relating to the publication of material on the site are handled by the PI Committee.

Chairman of the Archives Committee

The service assignment involves the following:

  • Coordinate all committee business such as scanning, photographing, organizing, displaying the archive, returning materials to members versus long-term storage.

  • Participate and report at area meetings.

  • Ensure communication between the committee, districts and areas.

  • Voting rights on topical issues at area meetings.

Desirable knowledge and qualities:

  • Knowledge of the traditions, World Service Manual and Roberts Rules of Order.

  • Practical knowledge of the policy, procedures and guidelines of the Archives Committee (except for the First Chair).

  • Structured, organized, thorough and responsible.

  • 1 year of active service on the Archives Committee.

Desirable minimum sober time: 1 year.

Length of service assignment: 2 years.


Member CASSO

The service assignment involves the following:

  • Attend CASSO meetings.

  • Participate in area meetings.

  • Is involved in ensuring that Traditions are followed.

  • Voting rights on topical issues in CASSO and at area meetings.

Desirable knowledge and qualities:

  • Meticulous and responsible.

  • Familiar with the traditions.

  • 6 months of active service in CA.

Desirable minimum sober time: 1 year.

Length of service assignment: 2 years.

WHAT IS CASSO?

CASSO (CA Sweden's Service Organization) consists of six people (chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, 2 members) who work together to CA Sweden to function smoothly. CASSO is responsible for CA Sweden's economy and for organizing area meetings. CASSO also takes input from districts and/or meeting groups, which is then forwarded to delegates or directly to CA World's organization in the USA.

What is an Area Meeting?

Area meetings are meetings where representatives from different districts, meeting groups and committees (belonging to the same geographical area) meet and discuss general issues related to CA. CA Sweden is currently counted as one area.
